Growing Together Northumberland

Horticultural and wellbeing activities for volunteers in the community who are over 16, not in work or education. Supported by The Alnwick Garden. Growing Together Northumberland is a project whose aims are to give volunteers the opportunity to learn new skills, be active outdoors and improve their wellbeing. Projects can take place in the community or at The Alnwick Garden and are tailored to individual's or community group needs. Activities can include gardening, enhancing habitats for nature and growing, cooking and eating local food.

Regular volunteering opportunities are available at The Alnwick Garden Roots and Shoots Allotment and in the Community Fridge where surplus food is shared to help tackle food waste. The project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. The Alnwick Garden is a Charitable Trust.

We work closely with Grow into Work where volunteers are supported with work experience, CV writing and enterprise skills.
