Marine Medical Group - Social Prescribers can offer you advice, support and practical help. This includes advice on dementia, menopause, Parkinson's, social isolation, loneliness, adult social care referrals, filling in forms (benefits/housing etc) and referrals to other local health and wellbeing services. In addition to our drop-ins, we hold regular events advertised on Facebook and in the local community. All our events and actvities are free and open to anyone living or working in Blyth.

We also offer a variety of FREE drop-in services including:

  • Menopause and Women's Health - The menopause can be a confusing and frustrating time. You are not alone. Come along and share your experiences or just listen to others. The Peer Support Group is every Wednesday (2-4pm) at the CVA hub.
  • We're Just Talking - Mental Health Support Group is every Tuesday 1-3pm at the Pheonix Theatre, Beaconsfield Street,
    Blyth,NE24 2DS We are joined every 4th Tuesday by one of our Mental health Practitioners. Free Tea, coffee and biscuits available.
  • Marine Medical Group Social Prescribers Weekly FREE drop in. Social prescribers can help with a variety of issues, from benefits to housing, from isolation and loneliness to adult social care and referrals. Just pop in and see how we can help you  every Thursday 9am-4pm at the CVA Hub, 14 Market Place Blyth. The first Thursday of every month, we are joined by IT support who can help you get online, register for the NHS App, get an email account or even learn how to use your IPad to contact family and friends. 
  • We also hold regular activities, well-being events and occasional trips with a range of other organisations. These are all advertised locally as well as on our Facebook page here: Marine Medical Group Facebook.

Who can use this service?

All our events and actvities are free and open to anyone living or working in Blyth.

If you require assistance with something that requires your medical notes, we are only able to do this for Marine Medical patients due to GDPR. However, we can contact your surgery on your behalf and ask them to contact you for further support.

Face to face at our drop-in activities or you can call us at the surgery.
